Tool, Parabola. All of the lyrics on Tool’s lateralus’s album, relate to twin flame dynamics and the spiritual journey that leads up to it, during it, and after he goes into union. No wonder they call Maynard “The Reverend”.

This is one of my favorites. I cannot confirm what he means in these lyrics but I would bet my last dollar on the fact that this is him describing the merging twin flames experience during sex. When you feel yourself melt into your twin and you can’t tell the difference between your body and theirs, and it feels like heaven, like you are whole again. When time stops and you have no recollection of past or future, only the now moment. The holly sacred experience you feel during orgasm and when you find yourself in a new universe and see that pain is just an illusion, and we are more than just our bodies, we are eternal.

Parabola
We barely remember who or what came before this precious moment,
We are choosing to be here right now. Hold on, stay inside…
This holy reality, this holy experience. Choosing to be here in…

This body. This body holding me. Be my reminder here that I am not alone in
This body, this body holding me, feeling eternal all this pain is an illusion.

Alive

This holy reality, this holy experience. Choosing to be here in…

This body. This body holding me. Be my reminder here that I am not alone in
This body, this body holding me, feeling eternal all this pain is an illusion…
Of what it means to be alive

Twirling round with this familiar parable.
Spinning, weaving round each new experience.
Recognize this as a holy gift and celebrate this chance to be alive and breathing.

This body holding me reminds me of my own mortality.
Embrace this moment. Remember. We are eternal.
All this pain is an illusion.
